The Master Photographer's Association & British Institute of Professional Photography
As Members of the MPA & BIPP we shall:-
- Strive continually to uphold the professional standard of our work and to improve the standard of practice in the profession as a whole.
- Deal fairly, honestly and helpfully with our clients, suppliers and fellow members and when required to give professional opinion shall do so conscientiously and without malice.
- Exercise all reasonable skill, care and diligence in the discharge of our duties and shall act fairly and in good faith.
- At all times and in all respects conduct our professional and business operations within the law.
The Master Photographer's Association (MPA) and The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) are Government recognised training and qualifying bodies for Professional Photographers. As members we are showing a desire for continuing development of our work and commitment to the codes of Professional Practice. In the unlikely event of an unresolved dispute the client may seek expert guidance and binding arbitration from the BIPP or MPA.

Qualification Levels & Standards
Licentiate (LMPA/LBIPP)
competence in the chosen field of photography. Understanding of camera techniques, lighting and composition and ability to create merchantable quality photography. The candidate is required to produce a panel of work produced to a standard that can be reasonably expected from a professional image maker.
Associate (AMPA/ABIPP)
Midway between Licentiateship and Fellowship and denotes a high standard of craftsmanship and individual creative ability. At Associateship level the work will demonstrate a refinement of technical skills and creative input, added to the competence of Licentiateship.
Fellow (FMPA/FBIPP)
Is awarded as the highest qualification within the Associations. The award is made for excellence in photographic technique and interpretation. The photographer having exhibited an individual, innovative, artistic and creative style in their submission demonstrating that they are at the leading edge in the art of photography.
