Old Bramstonians FC

March 26, 2012

Great respect can be learnt trying to photograph a different discipline! Many will tell you weddings are like  ‘sports action’ however, trying my hand at football photography yesterday (admittedly with an older camera) certainly exposes the challenges. Weddings in general all take place in a fairly small area, football can be anywhere on the pitch and whilst you are looking at the action in the viewfinder the ball suddenly is somewhere else!! I have great respect for sports photographers!

Pictures are of Old Bramstonians, a Witham based team that we sponsor, playing at Stevens Road, Witham.

Styles of Photography

March 18, 2012

Styles of Photography available in the wedding photography market:-

Standard – Lots of group pictures and straight forward often unflattering Bride & Groom pictures.

Classical – carefully arranged formal pictures making everyone look their best before the picture is taken. You and you guests may need patience.

Reportage – capture the action without interfering with the couples day (often now called ‘Documentary’ as Reportage sometimes has a poor reputation). When we see great examples of ‘Documentary’ wedding photography it is often because the couple have been coached before the day in what is expected!

Lifestyle – lots of Photoshop to mess up the colours and give the pictures a ‘modern’ look. Couples in natural (not always flattering) poses.

We like to think of our Wedding Photography as contemporary Story telling. We are happy to capture real action if it looks good but we are also happy to encourage ‘moments’ to happen! Family groups and Classical pictures are usually required but do not have to take the whole day and we work in a fairly informal way. By photographing our couples at some point during their Engagement they are generally more relaxed on the big day and understand how we would like them to stand to make them look their best. Why not contact us and see what a whole wedding looks like?

Wedding Photography for Natalie & Wayne – Parklands, Quendon Hall

March 15, 2012

It was a lovely day in February, for the Wedding of Natalie and Wayne at Parklands, Quendon Hall. Natalie was just having the final touches applied to her make-up, when we arrived, which worked well for us as we photographed this as well as the detail shots. As the Men were getting ready at Parklands as well, David went and captured the laughter there.  Natalie then moved to one of the other rooms for her photographs where we captured some lovely images. Following the Civil Ceremony, Natalie, Wayne and their Guests enjoyed a Drinks Reception in the grounds of Parklands in the warm sunshine. A few family photographs were followed by a short break for the couple, then we took Natalie and Wayne for a short walk around the superb grounds of Parklands, for their pictures, where there are so many opportunities, without taking too much time.  The Pavilion was the setting for Natalie and Wayne’s evening celebrations, and after taking some First Dance pictures  we left them to finish enjoying their Wedding Day.  It was nice to meet Richard of ‘Your Perfect Day’ Video and look forward to working with him again during the year. Children’s Portraits

March 14, 2012

It was lovely to see Kathryn and Collin again, with their two children, William and Luke, for some portraits.  After catching up, having a coffee, and allowing the children time to play, in no time at all we captured some lovely pictures.  We photographed Kathryn and Collin’s Wedding in 2006.Children's Portrait Photograph - Essex

Children’s Portraits

March 4, 2012

What an enjoyable time we had with 2 year old twins, Lily and Kelby!  It was really great to meet them at last, we should have seen them before Christmas but unfortunately they were unwell at the time.  Much fun and laughter occurred, producing some lovely pictures!Children's Portrait Photographer - Essex
